Purposeful

Everything we do here has a purpose and a goal designed to make life easier. It has become our culture and it's contagious. By being purposeful, we are committing ourselves to doing our very best to get it right the first time.

No one here at Abison does what they do for a paycheck. There are no time clock punchers. What we have is belief in a product, and a team with a vision. These traits are necessary for success.

Traditional yet Cutting Edge

Whether it's our business acumen or the way in which we write our software, so much can be gleaned from the principles of the past. We hear about the "old days" when business was done with a handshake and wonder why that's gone. Our industry has a way of taking advantage of the many unknowns as it overcharges for products and services simply because it can. Our aim is to make a decent living as well as constantly reinvest in our company for our future.

When it comes to programming, we still adhere to the sound concepts established in the past. The skills and methods that yield sound programming code and business logic. However, we do not live in the past. We simply bring the past with us as we constantly strive to stay on top of modern languages and technologies.

Hard Working

Since the beginning developmental phases of CCS in January 2005, I have both witnessed and participated in what can only be defined as inhuman work loads and schedules, all being done without the need to ask. We knew early on we had something special and we wanted to see it through to fruition. Yet, as special as this project is, we have already isolated areas that we want to improve. Like any application there are always bugs to be found but it is our proactive mindset and dedication to build a better product that will win out in the end.

Our desire and drive to make Comprehensive Commerce Suite the best fulfillment and e-commerce package for the multichannel marketing industry can only mean great benefits for our client base and their customers.

Team-oriented

While I have seen work environments say they function as a team and other groups work hard at achieving such a thing, it just fell into place here at Abison from the very beginning. In so many ways and in so many instances, the group here often seems to be on the same wave length. One will start a thought while the other finishes it. While this is not always the case, more often than not, the internal rhythm and synchronicity ultimately works its way into the groove. I believe it also winds up working its way right into the software which is why CCS Web and CCS Fulfillment work so well together.

Part of what makes the Abison team so successful is the right mix of thinking and doing while feeding off each other during that process. It gets back to the word "purposeful," because we are always focused on making our thoughts, actions, and results mean something worthwhile at the end of the day. When the next day starts we repeat the process where someone else thinks up the idea and the others roll it into a successful feature that causes that word "comprehensive" to continue to swell.

Creative

I think it's safe to say that there is no shortage of creative thinking here at Abison. If you ask any of our customers about our capabilities you will often hear them reiterate what we often say to them, "we can do anything." Current Abison clients have found that we have so much more to offer than just software; there is an entire team of talented creative individuals eager to apply their skills in meaningful ways to help others. To us, your problems are merely enticing objects that need creative thought processes in order to find a desirable solution—this is something we love doing.

I have found something else to be uncommon in our industry: critical thinking. One way to do things is to simply take a given task, step through the items and complete the objective. Then there is the Abison way. Each item is thought about on its own as well as in relation to the overall project. Thought is given not only to meeting the immediate task but also to how the finished work will hold up in the future.

Philanthropic

In high school my locker was just outside the main choir room and above the chalk board was a large banner that read "In giving we receive." I cannot count the number of times that statement went through my head as I left school for the day. One thing is certain—it stuck. I am also certain that back then I missed the point because when we give, people give to us. It was later when I realized that the "receiving" part is in a global sense. It is knowing you have helped someone and perhaps one day they will help someone in return and this process continues. I am confident our hard work will pay off with success. Yet with that success we will continue to give if not give more.

Human

It's amazing how many people forget this key characteristic. With everything I have written here this might be the most important: we are human. We make mistakes and sometimes big ones—you know, the ugly kind a box of doughnuts just can't fix. It is during these times that we bust out the secret weapon: "We're sorry. We made a mistake and we will fix it." We then follow this with more of that "inhuman workload and schedules" to repair the damage and hopefully put Abison back into your good graces. One thing is for certain, we will not repeat mistakes.

Along with being human, we are also very dedicated to our families because they are the real reason we do what we do.

So there you have it, all things Abison. If all this doesn't mean anything to you, that's fine. But just wait until you see our software—it will blow you away.
